A new season brings dewy weather and a fresh collection that is inspired by China, but at home anywhere. The Yin Yang capsule suits grand tea ceremonies as much as a meditative cup on one’s own, and is inspired by the vast stretches of grassland dotting China’s coast, in a host of fresh fabrics and cuts meant for middays and after-hours equally. You’ll find large kiku and plum blossoms stencilled onto feather-light cotton, segueing into smaller motifs that dot full skirts and are scattered onto slips that go under gauzy chanderi. Dresses and saris are festooned in wide stripes of steel grey and ivory, grazing knees and hem in diaphanous swathes on our newest saris. Hearts and stars embroidered in zari are destined to accompany languid evenings that roll into long nights. Nicobar’s new season is here, in a fresh autumn palette.
