Stylish sojourn

Traversing the landscape from Kutch to Zanzibar, The Nicobar Edit pop-up stopped only once it had reached its destination at La Bodega. Inspired by its namesake paradise, the idea was to soak the tropical mindset into a lifestyle collection for the contemporary Indian.

The home decor line comprises graphic platters, serveware, teapots, mugs of kaolin clay with handles of bamboo twine. Silk and velvet cushions are inspired from Morocco’s commotion-filled markets. The high point remains the Kutch embroidery. “Nicobar is so much more than just fabric and thread. We make pieces that we hope customers will treasure, while exploring the creative edge of a culture, considering how it communicates to a global audience,” says Simran Lal, co-founder and Creative Director of the pop-up.
Immersed in the spirit of the seventies, the womenswear line at the pop up is all about shades of indigo denim, aqua and teal. Block prints and casual stripes sit along side chanderi garments. “Our clothing is focused on fit, form, and fabric, with layering being at the cruz,” she says.

On another side of the space, you’ll find an elegantly laid out kurtas, shirts and trousers for men. Don’t miss the travel collection that journeys to the African continent.
